Hi, book clubbers!
We are so excited to share this month's book club picks!
The month of May is Mental Health Awareness Month, so we are being intentional about cherishing peace.
Philippians 4:6-7 states, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
With an influx of negative storylines screaming for our attention, it can be easy to fall into the trap of anxious thoughts. We asked ourselves, what are some books that are not only about peace, but inspire us to approach life with thanksgiving and keep our focus on God.
First and foremost, Jesus reminds us that "If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:31-32)
What we can take from this scripture is that the Bible is the most important book anyone can read. Meditating on the Word of God is crucial to experiencing peace daily.
Scripture reminds us "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." (Psalm 119:105)
Reading the Word of God prompts us to renew our minds and his words will always provide a calming guide amidst the storms and worries of life.
We are so grateful for the Word of God.
In addition to reading the Bible, here are two other book recommendations that we love!
For Adult Readers: The Answer to Anxiety by Joyce Meyer

God is never without an answer to your problems - Joyce Meyer
Within The Answer to Anxiety, Joyce Meyer presents five useful ways readers can respond to stressful situations by focusing on the Lord. The Lord does not want us to live with anxiety and when believers understand that God has great plans for them, they can confidently rest in the peace the Lord offers.
For Young Readers: Anxious for Nothing Young Readers Edition by Max and Andrea Lucado

What can I do when I am feeling anxious about something big or small in my life?
This is the question that young readers can learn to answer for themselves from reading Anxious for Nothing Young Readers Edition by Max and Andrea Lucado. This book provides scriptures and helpful exercises to help young readers check in with their thoughts and emotions.
Young readers are growing up in a generation that is changing fast with advancing technology and social media. Mental health for kids is just as important as mental health for adults.
