Hi, book clubbers!
For the month of February, we are being intentional about cherishing love, and our monthly verse comes from Colossians 3:14:
"And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony." Colossians 3:14 ESV
In honor of Black History Month and Valentine’s Day, I wanted to share two books that that have warmed my heart and have encouraged me to celebrate God’s love for others!
For Young Readers: A Cup of Love: Relationship Goals for Kids written by Michael Todd and illustrated by Joel Santana

For Adult Readers: Loving Your Black Neighbor as Yourself: A Guide to Closing the Space Between Us written by Chante Griffin.

Throughout our culture, there is such an emphasis on love and relationships! It can be easy for me to get caught up in the busyness of trying to buy the perfect card or picking out the perfect gift to impress those I love. But this week, the Lord kindly reminded me that in order for me to truly love others well, I have to spend time with Him and experience His love for me first. Allowing the Lord to pour His love into me, helps me to treat others how the Lord intends for me to treat them.
It’s not about the gifts or the cards, but rather how I reflect the Lord’s love to others when the grocery aisles aren’t filled with candy hearts.
No matter the time of year, may we all remember to put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3:14 ESV ❤️
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 ESV ❤️
