Keep Moving Forward

“Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalm 23:6

In this season of my life, I am choosing to cherish the Lord’s goodness. I’m going to be honest, the beginning of this year did not pan out the way that I expected and I took a step back. In the midst of a broken heart and much uncertainty, the Lord graciously held my right hand and reminded me of the certainty I have in Him and Him alone. Scripture reminds us if we are faithless, He remains faithful- for he cannot deny himself (2 Timothy 2:13). The unexpected happened and I don’t understand why, but I am choosing to lean not on my own understanding and trust Jesus.

Currently, I am reading Don’t Look Back by Christine Caine. When the unexpected happens, it can be easy to get stuck looking back on what was or what happened, but we cannot stop time from moving forward. Christine highlights that where we look in life, is often where we will go and reading this book has reminded me that in the midst of transition, I can place my hope in Jesus. Whether I crawl, take a step, limp, walk or run, I choose to keep moving forward in life with Jesus. God has a unique plan and His ways are not my ways and His thoughts are not my thoughts. We can trust Him because he knows the plans he has in store for each of us; and He declares that they are plans for welfare and not for evil, to give us a future and a hope.(Jeremiah 29:11)

With so much uncertainty in this world and in our lives, may we always remember that we can trust the Lord because He is GOOD and He cannot deny his character.

“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” Psalm 34:8
